Second Round of the Best Building in Latvia 2025 Competition Underway 08.06.2026
Since the beginning of May, the second round of the 28th Best Building in Latvia 2025 competition, organised in cooperation with Ceresit, has been actively taking place. During this stage, the competition jury, together with nearly 50 representatives from 26 professional associations, public institutions and higher education establishments, is visiting and evaluating 74 construction projects completed last year. Of these, 68 are located in Latvia, while six are projects built abroad by Latvian construction companies.
The Best Building in Latvia 2025 competition is organised by the Latvian Builders Association and the Latvian Association of Civil Engineers in cooperation with Ceresit, 17 industry organisations, the State Construction Control Bureau, VAS Valsts nekustamie īpašumi, the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments, Riga Technical University, the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, Riga Building College and the Faculty of Architecture and Design of RISEBA University.
This year, MONUM has entered six projects into the competition: the Deglava Gleznotāju Rezidence residential development, the Ceriņu nams affordable rental apartment building in Bauska, the affordable rental apartment building in Valmiera, the Latvian Micro Surgery Centre, the ALTOP Industrial Park in Lociki, and the Justice Academy building.
The jury plans to complete on-site visits to all submitted projects before the summer solstice. This will be followed by a detailed evaluation and assessment process, after which the jury will select the highest-scoring projects to advance to the final. The competition final, including project presentations, is scheduled for mid-July, while the award ceremony will take place at the end of the summer.
