Ridgepole Celebrations at Nica Sports Hall 06.10.2015

This September ridgepole celebrations were held at Nica sports hall, the construction of which began in spring 2015. The project is developed by ’MONUM’, and the locals proudly call it ‘the Nica building of the century’. The traditional hanging of a wreath on a ridgepole symbolises a new phase in the construction process – supporting structures and roof constructions have been finished and the building has assumed its shape. At the moment Ruukki panels are being erected, so that ’MONUM’ can commence interior works soon.

The new project will hold a hall with a stand for 420 spectators, a gym, a room for group fitness and aerobics, locker rooms with toilets and showers, referee and teacher rooms, a bath house with auxiliary premises, a room for equipment, a vestibule with a cloakroom and a room for the person on duty, as well as a plug-in for an off-site café. The hall will be energy efficient, its energy consumption levels will be considerably lower than for ordinary buildings. Heating will be saved by recuperation – recovery of heat and reuse of it, the walls of the hall will be thicker, it will have energy efficient lighting, and construction materials used in the process will be of high heat retention capacity.

Construction works are planned to be finished by April 2016.
