On Saturday, 29 August the ’MONUM’ BMX Cup Championship will take place at Riga Mezaparks BMX track. The championship will start at 13:00.

The ride will be exciting in all 18 age groups, especially in the joint elite and junior group. Elite BMX riders Sandra Aleksejeva and Kristens Krigers have announced their participation in the joint group. The Latvian youth team will be represented by Mikus Strazdins, Reino Liepins, and Filips Krists Rozitis, the 4th place winners of the 2015 World and European Championship, as well as Edvards Glazers, the 2015 European Champion.

It is expected that approximately 200 BMX riders from various clubs of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Belarus and Finland will compete in the ’MONUM’ Cup. The final rides are expected to begin at 4 pm.

The championship is organized by the Rigas Favorits sports club, and ’MONUM’ has been the main patron of the Latvian BMX scene for several years already, supporting the club in both daily training and championships. As of this year, ’MONUM’ is the key supporter of the entire Latvian BMX team, which is particularly important in order to prepare for the Rio Olympics.
