The Limbaži Swimming Pool is the most valuable building in Latvia 26.09.2019
On 24 September, during the closing ceremony of the contest Sustainability in Architecture, Construction and Design 2019, the Limbaži Swimming Pool built by MONUM was awarded the 1st prize in the category Public Facility in the nomination The Most Sustainable Building.
The building is a facility of importance for the city and the region, and it combines the functions of a sports and health complex. It is characterised by modern architecture and solutions aimed at rational use of resources. Environmentally friendly materials have been extensively used in the construction of the swimming pool.
The contracting authority of the project is the Limbaži Municipality Council, the designer is MARK SIA and the construction supervisor is Firma L4 SIA.
The contest Sustainability in Architecture, Construction and Design highlights valuable aspects of facilities that are manifested in operating costs, sufficient air exchange, and are environmentally and human friendly. The contest has been held for the seventh year by the Building Design and Construction Council in cooperation with the Ministry of Economics and the State Construction Control Bureau of Latvia.
