On January 24 of this year, the Aluksne Sports and Education Center was put into operation.

The project “Establishment of an educational and sports center in the town of Aluūksne” is implemented by the municipality of Aluksne region as a high readiness project with the support of VARAM and Ministry of Education.

As part of the investment project, the building of the Aluksne Sports Center and the infrastructure necessary for its functioning were built, the old sports hangar was demolished, a parking lot was created instead, the section of Darba Street was rebuilt. The multi-purpose sports hall includes a sports field for basketball, volleyball, floorball and indoor football, an athletics area, running tracks, sprint, long jump, high jump and shot put sectors, as well as judo, gym and gymnastics halls. The construction of the new sports infrastructure is a significant benefit for ensuring the learning process, the activities of residents and sports associations, and the organization of sports competitions in the Aluksne region. The owners of the building will be the Aluksne Sports School, but every resident of the region will be able to use the premises for sports activities.

All interested parties will be able to visit the new sports center on the open day, the date of which will be announced separately by the municipality.
