The new building of Ogre State Gymnasium has been commissioned 14.06.2023

It is planned to provide the learning process for 600 students in the new school. The layout of the building is designed to give a feeling of spaciousness and connection with the outside space. For example, the school lobby is designed with a wide skylight, which creates the feeling of an outdoor space. An inner courtyard has also been created in the central part of the school. On the third floor of the building, students are provided with an organized exit to the roof, which is intended to be used as an observatory, as well as for other small school events.
On the first floor of the school there is a lobby, an assembly hall, as well as science subject auditoriums and teachers’ rooms. On the second floor, there are classrooms for mathematics, technology, humanities and social sciences, as well as a methodological center and a library. On the third floor will house a social pedagogue, a psychologist, a career counselor, as well as technical rooms.
Both stationary and mobile tribunes are available in the sports hall, providing space for up to 1,700 spectators. The basis of the sports complex is an athletics arena built to the requirements of the International Athletics Federation – 4 circular (200m) and 6 sprint tracks, sectors for long jump, high jump, pole vault and shot put. Meanwhile, in the middle of the arena there is a field for team sports, which will be suitable for basketball, floorball, tennis, handball and volleyball.
The sports building also has rooms for wrestling training, available dressing rooms and rooms for trainers, while on the second floor there is a gym, a choreography room and a gym class room.
There are three parking lots in the vicinity of the building – respectively for the needs of the school building and the sports building, as well as for visitors as part of various events. In addition, the access road to the school and sports buildings has been rebuilt (on the section from Mednieku Street) to ensure easy access to the buildings for students and athletes.
