DB.Lv: new gymnasium and sports buildings to be built in ogre for 21 million euros 19.06.2020

Ogre municipality has entered into an agreement with the general partnership “MMG” on the development, construction and author supervision of the construction project of the new Ogre State Gymnasium and sports building.

Two projects have been developed – separately for the school building and the sports building. The buildings are expected to be interconnected. The school building will be built on three floors – on the first floor there will be a lobby, assembly hall, library, as well as auditoriums and pedagogical rooms for science subjects. On the second floor there will be classes for mathematics, technology, humanities and social sciences, as well as teacher rooms.

School and sports buildings will be connected on both the first and second floors. On the ground floor, they will be connected by a catering unit, so that the café services can be used for the needs of the sports hall outside school hours. The sports hall has a separate entrance with auxiliary rooms for spectators and athletes. Both stationary and mobile stands will be available, providing a total of up to 1,500 spectators.

The sports complex is based on an athletics arena built to the requirements of the International Federation – four circular and six sprint treadmills, sectors for long jump, high jump, show jumping and ball shooting. In the middle of the arena there will be a basketball court, which will also be suitable for floorball, handball and volleyball. There will also be rooms for wrestling training on the first floor, three basketball training grounds, and changing rooms will be available.
