MONUM-sponsored BMX riders come out on top at the BMX European Championships in France 17.07.2017
Last week, the French city of Bordeaux hosted the BMX European Championship, in which riders representing the MONUM-sponsored Rīgas Favorīts Sport Club achieved some notable success.
On Saturday morning, junior BMX riders aged 7-11 years competed in the BMX European Championships in the French city of Bordeaux.
Of the Latvian competitors who took part, a total of 10 riders qualified for the grand final. In the B10 boys’ group, by winning all the day’s rides, Rīgas Favorīts rider and trainer’s protégé Kristers Apels ended the competition as champion. 4th place in this group was secured by Kristers’ team mate Markuss Ozoliņš.
In the G11 girls’ group, both Latvian competitors Paula Kibare and Paula Zavinska qualified for the final in good style. On the track, both of our girls performed with distinction, occupying the first two places.
In turn, in the grand final for the elite men’s group, 5th place was secured by Latvian national team and BMX club Valmieras puikas member Edžus Treimanis, who is sponsored by the MONUM construction company.
