In April 2023, the construction company SIA “MONUM” concluded a contract for the development of the construction project for the modernization of the boiler house with an increase in efficiency, construction works and author supervision. Location of the object – Brīvības iela 38, Ventspils. The amount of the contract is 9 million euros.

Construction works are planned to be completed in the spring of 2025. The client of the project is PSIA “Ventspils siltums”.

The municipality SIA “Ventspils siltums” plans to rebuild the existing KM at Brivibas street 38, in Ventspils by installing two biofuel water heating boilers, each with a heat capacity of 5MW (2x5MW) instead of the existing “Komforts” chip boiler AK 6000, also installing electrostatic filters for both the existing 2x10MW chip boilers “BHH”, as well as for new biofuel boilers, including the modernization, automation, efficiency and operational safety of existing boiler house systems. The produced thermal energy will be transferred to the city’s heat networks. The modernization project takes place within the boundaries of the buildings and structures of the existing boiler house.
