Topping out ceremony held at the personal equipment warehouse facility 03.12.2020

Honouring the traditions of construction, on 3 December a topping out ceremony was held at the MONUM construction site at 9 Krustabaznīcas Street, where the personal equipment warehouse of the National Armed Forces is being built. The event took place, observing the restrictions set in the country.

“The topping out ceremony is a tradition that symbolises the completion of the significant structures of the building and of the main construction works. This is the stage when the building has reached its highest point. Work on the assembly of the building frame at the personal equipment warehouse facility has been completed, and in the near future we will start the assembly of the building envelope components,” Rita Markova-Gavrilova, Project Manager at MONUM, outlines the status of the project.

This is the first standard type warehouse that will provide the Riga Garrison soldiers, national guards and youth guards with personal equipment. The total floor space of the building will be approximately 1,750 square metres, and it will be equipped with modern technologies and engineering systems that will increase the efficiency of the supply system of the National Armed Forces. The total project cost is EUR 3.78 million. The construction is due for completion next summer.
