MONUM continues reconstruction and modernisation of the Latvian-Russian border checkpoint Terehova 16.04.2021

We continue to work on the country’s busiest Latvian-Russian border checkpoint Terehova. The project involves extensive reconstruction and modernisation works.

“We have commissioned the in-depth control building, which will allow for carrying out more efficient inspections in the future. Currently, the reconstruction of two control pavilions and canopies is in progress, which forms the second phase of the project. During the third and fourth phases, we will continue work on the reconstruction of the pavilions and improve the surrounding area,” Andris Vējiņš, Project Manager at MONUM, gives an overview of the most important works.

The resulting reconstruction will improve the visual image of the structure and the environment as well as modernise the information flow due to the installation of duplicate traffic signs at the entry to the border crossing point and at the inspection pavilions. The implemented technological solutions will allow customs officers to carry out the necessary document checks faster and more efficiently.

The project provides for improving the surrounding infrastructure and developing an area of over 12 hectares. The works are set for completion this year.
