’MONUM’ joins ’Latvian Partnership of Building Contractors’ 10.03.2016

In March this year, ’MONUM’ joined the public organisation ’Latvian Partnership of Building Contractors’ (Latvijas Būvuzņēmēju partnerība), which in addition to ’MONUM’ already includes Latvia’s nine largest building contractors. The goal of the partnership is to promote sustainability of the construction industry based on safety, quality, long-term development and competitiveness of the industry. To achieve this goal, the ’Latvian Partnership of Building Contractors’ maintains a dialogue between the construction industry and the Latvian state, encouraging positive changes that contribute to achieving the partnership’s goals.

Shortly before Christmas, on 22 December, the new Iecava Music and Art School at Grafa laukums 1, Iecava was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a festive concert. Representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education and Science, Zemgale Planning Region, Latvian National Centre for Culture, Culture Capital Foundation of Latvia, Embassy of Switzerland in Latvia, the commonwealth municipality in Pasvale, neighbouring municipalities, as well as representatives from Iecava Music and Art School, Iecava District Council and MONUM participated in the solemn opening.

Last weekend the Latvian Cycling Federation organised the annual end-of-season event where achievements were looked back on and the most successful sportsmen, coaches and staff members of 2015 were congratulated. Also supporters were celebrated, among them MONUM which has greatly invested in the development of cycling in Latvia.

Immurement of capsule in the foundations of Sigulda Sports Hall signifies beginning of large scale construction works 15.10.2015

Today, on October 15, 2015 a capsule was immured in the foundations of Sigulda sports complex, built by  ‘MONUM’ Ltd. and ‘Uzars celtniecība’ Ltd. within the partnership ‘S.J.U.C.’. The capsule contained a message for the next generations, a 1 lat coin issued during the 800th birthday celebrations of Sigulda, as well as an informative bulletin prepared by Sigulda Municipality. Construction works were already commenced in September, however the immurement of the capsule signifies a more active process.

A time capsule with a message for the next generations will be laid into the foundations of the perspective Sigulda sports complex 13.10.2015

On Thursday, October 15th, a time capsule with a message for the next generations will be built into the foundations of the perspective Sigulda sports complex. The event will be attended by the owners of the building  – representatives of Sigulda Region Council, representatives of the designer and contractor partnership ’S.J.U.C.’ –  ’MONUM’ Ltd., as well as the bobsleigh legend, the bronze medallist of the 1984 Olympic Games Zintis Ekmanis.
