On June 1, in the presence of the Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development Artūrs Tomas Plešs and those involved in construction, a dragonfly festival was celebrated at the Alūksne Education and Sports Center.

The the topping out ceremony is a special moment during the construction, when the most important construction works have already been completed and those involved in the construction process can look back. That is why the chairman of Alūksne municipality council Dzintars Adlers thanked the builders – the team of SIA “MONUM” for their work and cooperation.

Jānis Sproģis, a member of the Board of SIA “MONUM”, emphasized that he was satisfied with the opportunity to invest in the development of Alūksne, especially in the construction of such an important facility, where the biggest beneficiaries will be young athletes from Alūksne. He thanked the municipality for their trust and the team for their success.

“The location of the new Education and Sports Center has been chosen perfectly from the point of view of the city’s infrastructure – it is located in the city center, between Ernst Glick Alūksne State Gymnasium and Alūksne City Primary School. On the other hand, we have coped with almost all the challenges posed by the difficult conditions of the existing soil. The external conditions – the geopolitical situation and the pandemic – have also significantly affected the construction industry, but we will definitely meet these challenges together with the customer,” member Jānis Sproģis.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants of the topping out ceremony left their wishes on one of the walls of the future Education and Sports Center.

The construction of the new sports infrastructure will be a significant benefit for the provision of the learning process, the activities of residents and sports associations and the organization of sports competitions in Alūksne region.
