In April 2020, MONUM, as the leading partner of the General Partnership MMG, signed a contract for development of the construction design, construction work and design supervision for the building of Ogre State Gymnasium and sports arena. Work on the development of the construction designs for the school building and the sports arena building has now been completed, and the expert examination of the designs has been started.

Modern learning environment

The school building measuring more than 7 thousand square metres will offer everything to ensure a modern learning process. The classrooms will be arranged in thematic blocks (sections). The new building will include premises for the needs of the culture and arts section, natural sciences section, foreign languages section, social sciences and humanities section, and mathematics and technology section. The classrooms will be equipped with information and communication technologies as well as digital teaching aids, including 3D printers.

Individual designs for the school building and the sports arena

This is an extensive project, so the designer has developed two construction designs for the interconnected buildings: the gymnasium and the sports arena. The total area of the buildings is 15 thousand square metres. Completely new sports infrastructure will be created for the modern sports arena, which is essential for Ogre as a modern and developed city. The new building will not only shape the image of the city, but will also improve the quality of life of the local population by offering a wide range of active recreation opportunities.

Architecturally bold solutions

In order for the new building to successfully integrate into the environment and create a sense of nature, bronze will be used in the façade solution. We appreciate the solutions and innovative ideas offered by the designers, which will contribute to an impressive overall image of the building and allow it to integrate harmoniously into the environment.

The project added value: the project is implemented according to the Design & Build principle. MONUM, as the general contractor, is entrusted with the project from A to Z – from the selection of design solutions to the construction and commissioning of the building. Ogre State Gymnasium is becoming the school of the future, which every pupil would like to attend.

The contracting authority of the project is Ogre Municipality Council. The construction is due for completion at the end of 2022.
