A capsule with a message has been laid in the foundation of the personal equipment warehouse 04.11.2020
On 4 November, an official capsule-laying ceremony took place at the MONUM construction site, where the personal equipment warehouse of the National Armed Forces is being built. The event was attended by Atis Pabriks, Minister of Defence; Lieutenant General Leonīds Kalniņš, Commander of the National Armed Forces; Jānis Sproģis, Member of the Board at MONUM, and the project management team.
This is the first standard type warehouse that will provide the Riga Garrison soldiers, national guards and youth guards with personal equipment. The total floor space of the building will be approximately 1,750 square metres, and it will be equipped with modern technologies and engineering systems that will increase the efficiency of the supply system of the National Armed Forces.
“During the process of the construction of the warehouse, we will use modern materials and solutions to make the building comfortable for its users and compliant with the set requirements. Currently, zero-cycle construction works are underway at the site, and in the near future we will start the construction of the building frame,” says Rita Markova-Gavrilova, Project Manager at MONUM.
The total project cost is EUR 3.78 million. The construction is due for completion next summer.
