Young people get to know the construction industry and the operations of MONUM 14.02.2019
During the Shadow Day held on Wednesday, 13 February, young people from all over Latvia visited MONUM office and construction site in Ādaži, where the new primary school building is under construction.
The schoolchildren gained insight into the daily activities and occupations of the MONUM office team. The young people learnt about the job duties of estimators, tender preparation specialists, financiers and accountants, lawyers, office managers, project managers and assistants, as well as the public relations specialist.
The schoolchildren also showed a great interest in the work at the site and had the opportunity to get insight into the daily work of the construction project managers and their assistants, as well as to observe the activities of the occupational health and safety specialist on the construction site.
“Young people are our future, so it is worthwhile to show them support in choosing their future occupation and the area of studies while they are still schoolchildren. We are pleased that we can provide insight into our activities and raise awareness of the industry as a whole, especially among young people who link their future with construction,” Gatis Logins, Member of the Board at MONUM, points out.
