Wood chip boiler house in Valmiera has been put into operation 30.07.2020
The wood chip boiler house at 1 Dakstiņu Street, Valmiera has been put into operation. The new boiler house has been built as an environmentally friendly heat supply system, which will have a minimal impact on the environment, as heat generation will be ensured using renewable energy sources.
The wood chip biomass boiler house is equipped with the latest technology; its thermal capacity is 9 MW and the thermal capacity of the flue gas condensing economiser is 1.5 MW. The new wood chip boiler house is scheduled to start operation in the heating season of 2020/2021, providing the residents of the right bank of the Gauja River with heat supply.
The contracting authority of the project is Valmieras Enerģija AS (Adven). Its total cost is over EUR 6 million including VAT. The project is implemented with the EU Cohesion Fund co-financing.
