Valmiera is preparing for the construction of a new boiler house 01.04.2019

Preparatory works are being carried out at Dakstinu iela 1, Valmiera for the construction of the new boiler house. Geological research is currently taking place in the construction site to determine the most suitable construction method.

“A modern city is characterized not only by contemporary buildings but also by an environmentally friendly heat supply system. A modern boiler house compliant with today’s requirements will be constructed in Valmiera that will both ensure an effective, accessible heat supply for the residents of the right bank of the Gauja River and leave a minimal impact on the environment,” says Kaspars Brencis, Construction Project Manager at MONUM.

On January 15, MONUM signed a contract with JSC Valmieras Enerģija for a new wood chip heat source building in Valmiera. The project includes installing a wood chip biomass boiler with the heating capacity of 9MW, as well as a flue-gas condensing economizer with the heating capacity of 1.5MW.

The total cost of the project is EUR 4 990 396, 75 + VAT, and it is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2020.
