The Trohaja building of Sigulda State Gymnasium has been put into operation 21.08.2020

On 21 August, the State Construction Control Bureau accepted the Trochee Block of the Sigulda State Gymnasium at 7 Ata Kronvalda Street for operation.

As a result of the major redevelopment project, the building constructed in 1960 has acquired 20 modern classrooms with auxiliary rooms, as well as administration and teacher rooms. The Trochee Block is architecturally adapted to the Quantum Block of natural sciences and mathematics, which was built by MONUM and opened on 1 September 2019.

Reconstruction of the Trochee Block is the 2nd stage of construction. Last summer, the works for the 1st stage were completed – the construction of a new natural sciences and mathematics block (the Quantum Block).

“We are satisfied with the work done, and I can say that as a result of the project, Sigulda has acquired a new, modern school building complex. This is an environment that meets contemporary requirements where pupils can collaborate, research, explore and develop,” says Rita Markova – Gavrilova, Project Manager at MONUM.

The contracting authority of the project is the Sigulda Municipality Council, and the construction supervision is carried out by Firma L4 SIA. The total project cost is EUR 12 million.
