MONUM commissions the Sigulda Cultural Centre 07.08.2018

Today, on the 7thof August, commissioning of the Sigulda Cultural Centre took place which reconstruction was commenced by MONUM into a low-energy consumption building in September 2017.

As a result of reconstruction of the Sigulda Culture Centre by MONUM, it has not only undergo the first renovation works since it was built in 1962 but has also gained new premises and additional technical functionalities – three rehearsal premises to be used by orchestra, choir and dancers, an extended stage with the rope attic, additional seats for the audience, as well as a new storage extension for the storing of props, costumes and equipment. After the reconstruction, the multifunctional small hall of the Cultural Centre will be used both as a cinema theater, as well as a hall for smaller-scale events. Façade of the building will also certainly be noticed – a sandstone outcrop motif characteristic for the Gauja valley is used in its design. This visually impressive effect has been achieved by using the digital printing technology of the paneling for the first time in Latvia. The reconstruction costs amount to 8 273 886 euros.
