LSM.lv: Border guards and customs officers in Terehova are awaiting the modernization of their workplaces that have deteriorated in the last 20 years 06.03.2019
Construction work has been planned to commence this April in “Terehova” – the busiest border post between Latvia and Russia. Under the Agreement with the SJSC “State Real Estate”, MONUM will carry out the modernization and reconstruction of the border post.
This border post will experience such comprehensive changes for the first time in its 20-year existence. As a result of the project, the road surface and the service buildings will be renovated, and the checkpoint modernized.
“Terehova is a border crossing point with significant importance to the state, considering its workload and the strategic location. Our goal is to improve the surrounding infrastructure, modernize the customs officers’ workplaces and improve the effectiveness of the flow of information,” says MONUM project manager Andris Vējiņš.
The total costs of construction work are approximately 6 million euro. The work has been planned to finish in the summer of 2020.
