’MONUM’ will continue to support Latvian national BMX team during the Olympic year 23.03.2016
We are very happy that ’MONUM will be that main supporter of Latvian national BMX team for the second year in a row.
Last year, the two-time Olympic champion Maris Strombergs won basic event of the final World Cup round in Rock Hill, United States; Edzus Treimanis took the sixth place in Time Trial of the World Championship; Vineta Petersone became the European champion of the G16 group of girls, but Mikus Strazdiņš won bronze award in this race of B16 youth group.
The successful collaboration between Latvian Cycling Federation and ’MONUM’ is going to continue in the season 2016. Vice President of Latvian Cycling Federation Edgars Dupats says: “We are happy that the construction company ’MONUM’ is going to support Latvian BMX teams – both adults and youth – during the Olympic Games year of Rio de Janeiro. The support provided by ’MONUM’ to our best elite athletes is priceless in this important season, and it will also make it possible to our young cyclists to prove themselves on the international scene who target to winning medals in the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020. By the hard work and sporting success Latvian BMX has proven their willingness and abilities, and we do hope that the successful cooperation will continue also after the end of this Olympic cycle!”
Already this weekend athletes from Latvian BMX team led by their head coach Ivo Lakucs will start the first round of the World Cup BMX Supercross in Argentina. We shall keep our fingers crossed!
