Dienas Bizness: Topping out ceremony held for the wood chip boiler house in Valmiera 22.11.2019
The topping out ceremony took place at the wood chip boiler house in Valmiera, which is expected to start its operations in the heating season 2020/2021. The cost of the project is EUR 4.9 million, of which EUR 1.66 million is co-financing from the EU Cohesion Fund.
“We are pleased that the construction process is progressing according to the plan, and the topping out ceremony means that we are a step closer to modern and environmentally friendly energy generation,” Māris Kānītis, Member of the Board at Adven Latvia SIA and Valmieras Enerģija AS, explains.
“This is an important project for Valmiera – an opportunity to stabilise heating prices for residents and return money to the national economy, providing the local entrepreneurs with the opportunity to supply fuel for the wood chip boiler house,” Jānis Baiks, Chairman of Valmiera City Council, adds.
The project is being developed by Valmieras Enerģija AS in cooperation with Valmiera City Council, Valmieras ūdens SIA, Adven Latvia SIA and MONUM SIA.
