An energy-efficient sports hall will be built in Valgunde 20.11.2012
On 27th of November the chairman of the Jelgava Municipal Council Ziedonis Caune built in the capsule for the next generations into the foundations of the Valgunde sports hall. The event that took place next to the Kalnciema high school was attended by representatives of the responsible municipal services, Valgunde municipality and the representatives of the construction company MONUM, as well as students and teachers from Kalnciema high school.
The message that was laid into the foundations of the building emphasized that the hall is being constructed for the purpose of ensuring development and growth oriented infrastructure in Jelgava region, as well as expressed the belief that the Valgunde sports hall will become a place for holding sports camps, competitions and training for young people not only from Jelgava region, but also from Jelgava city and other Latvian cities and regions.
It has to be added that a one lat coin with the image of a chimney sweeper, a commemorative coin of Jelgava region and a copy of the current edition of Jelgava municipal newsletter were placed inside the capsule together with the message.
As already reported before, one of the functionally most advanced and most importantly – one of the most energy-efficient sports halls that will ensure the opportunity to enjoy athletic activities at professional level for the young people from Valgunde and the region will be constructed in Valgunde district within the framework of the project “New construction of Low-energy building “Valgunde sports hall” in Jelgava region”.
The total costs of the project are estimated and approved in the amount of LVL 1 144 443.48, of which LVL 474 320.28 is ensured through the co-financing of CCFI (Climate change financial instrument).
