’MONUM’ and Balvi municipality inaugurated the reconstructed section of Brīvības street 11.11.2014
On 4thof November in Balvi the reconstructed section of Brivibas street was inaugurated, which was implemented within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund project No 3DP/3.6.2.1.0/13/IPIA/VRAA/001 „Reconstruction of the section of Brivibas street from the administrative border of Balvi city to Skersiela next to the park”.
The inaugural ribbon was cut by the deputy Chairman of Balvi Council Normunds Dimitrijevs, chairman of the Board of ’MONUM’ Maris Ozolins and member of the Board of ’Limbazu celi’ Ltd. Andis Zalaiskalns.
The deputy Chairman of Balvi Council Normunds Dimitrijevs, as well as the executive director of the municipality Inta Kalva thanked everyone who had been involved in the reconstruction of Brīvības street – the chairman of the Board Māris Ozoliņš and the project manager Andrejs Zolotojs, as well as the member of the board Gatis Logins from the contractor company ‘MONUM’, the representative of ’Limbazu Celi’Ltd. Andis Zalaiskalns, the assistant construction work manager Janis Rumpe, to ’Polyroad’ Ltd. – road site supervision – Stanislavs Adamovics and ’San-tex’ utility engineer Aivars Pugejs, as well as the design author supervisor Uldis Dundurs.
The audience was delighted by the performances of municipal institutions of Balvi region that are located on this street – the pre-school educational institution ’Sienazitis’ students from the Children and youth centre of Balvi, and creative teams from the Professional and general education high school of Balvi – the Manor of Balvi and the Regional museum of Balvi.
The executive director of the municipality Inta Kalva admitted that she was especially glad for the fact that the city has acquired its first bicycle track along the renovated street: „The children and the adults will have the opportunity to ride with their bikes and roller skates, because this part of the city is not tidied up – the sections of Raina, Pilsonu and Brivibas streets”.
‘MONUM’ started to work on the reconstruction of Brivibas street in May 2013. During this time the contractor has performed reconstruction of the street pavement, reconstruction and extension of the water main, reconstruction of the storm water sewage, reconstruction of the domestic sewage, reconstruction of the electronic communication networks and street lighting and has constructed the first joined bicycle – pedestrian path in Balvi, reaching from the city border to the “Citadele” bank office.
The construction costs of the street reconstruction amounted to around 2.8 million euro. The co-financing of the Balvi municipality amounted to around 340 thousand euro. Design author supervision performed by JSC ’Celu inzenieri’ – 6 800 euro, whereas site supervision performed by ’Polyroad’ Ltd. cost 28 752 euros.
