Opening of the Limbaži and Salacgrīva Municipality Sports School’s swimming pool 31.08.2018
The opening ceremony for the Limbaži and Salacgrīva Municipality Sports School’s swimming pool was held at the end of August. The project was implemented by the General Partnership MONUM and LitCon.
There are two pools in the swimming pool building: a large pool measuring 25×11 metres and a children’s pool measuring 10×5 metres, a steam bath, a sauna and a fitness hall with a gym and an aerobics room. The total area of the building is 3,000 square metres.
The walls of the Limbaži swimming pool are made of Keraterm clay blocks, which increase the energy efficiency and longevity of the building. The visual design of the large swimming pool hall, which is the main element of the modern building, is complemented by 21-metre-long glued laminated wood beams of the roof.
“We started work on the construction of the swimming pool in autumn 2016, but the idea that Limbaži needed its own swimming pool dates back to the late 1990s. It’s a pleasure that the city has fulfilled its intention, and now the people of Limbaži have access to a modern swimming pool. This is much more than a swimming pool – it is a sports complex, where everyone will find a suitable recreation activity,” Andris Šembels,
Construction Manager at MONUM, points out.
