Topping out ceremony at Ādaži Primary School 15.11.2018

On Thursday, 15 November, the topping out ceremony took place at the new Ādaži Primary School to mark the completion of a construction phase. According to traditions, topping out is held when the last beam is placed atop the building frame and the roof structure is erected.

So far, three floors of the building have been constructed, the roof has been partly built and the underground utility systems have been completed. Windows have been installed in part of the building, the construction of internal utilities has been started, electrical wiring inside and outside of the building has been carried out and aluminium facades are being assembled.

“On behalf of MONUM, I would like to say a big thank you to the team of this project, including the designers, the construction supervisors and the Ādaži Regional Council, but especially to those who are directly involved in carrying out the work.

The topping out ceremony symbolises the end of one stage and the beginning of the next stage. Just like the upcoming celebration of the 100th anniversary of the state, which symbolises the transition from one centenary to another. It is the transition from the past to the future. We are proud that we are building a new school here, which is now a symbol of our future. We are like a wreath and the children who will study here are our future,” said Gintars Dardets, Technical Director at MONUM, during his speech.

It is planned that the younger residents of Ādaži will be able to start their school days in the building built by MONUM in the autumn of next year.
