MONUM objects win top places in the show Best Building of the Year in Latvia 2018 29.03.2019
During the award ceremony of the show Best Building of the Year in Latvia 2018, which was held on 28 March 2019, the buildings by MONUM – the Limbaži Swimming Pool, the Rental Houses in Valmiera and the Rēzekne Industrial Complex – won top places.
The competition has been the biggest event in the industry for 21 years, and this year once again buildings by MONUM are ranked high among the 100 structures on the list. Each building brings high added value to the particular region by improving the environment, developing the infrastructure and contributing to the local community.
The Limbaži Swimming Pool is ranked 2nd in the nomination Public New Building and MAPEI Choice Award
The building is a facility of importance for the city and the region, and its combines the functions of a sports and health complexThere are two swimming pools in the building: a large pool measuring 25×11 m and a children’s pool measuring 10×5 m, as well as a steam bath, a sauna, a gym and an aerobics room. The cost of the project is EUR 3,655,177. The total area is 2,937.90 sq m.
The Rental Houses in Valmiera receive the Recognition Award in the nomination New Residential Building
The unique project – the first rental houses in Latvia – has been implemented on behalf of the local government, thus solving the housing stock shortage problem in Valmiera. The 150 modern one-room, two-room and three-room flats are distributed in two buildings. The cost of the project is EUR 7,983,580. The total area is 9,054.90 sq m.
The Rēzekne Industrial Complex receives the Recognition Award in the nomination Industrial Building
This is one of the largest facilities across Latgale region in recent years. It comprises a modern industrial complex, a manufacturing building, an administrative building and technical premises. To make the building easy to reach, an access road with the necessary public infrastructure – a parking lot for passenger cars and trucks – has been built. The total area of the building is more than 6,000 square metres and the cost is more than EUR 4 million.
