Grand opening ceremony of Ādaži Primary School has been held 02.09.2019
On 2 September, the newly built Ādaži Primary School at 16 Attekas Street, which is called one of the most modern schools in the Baltics, was officially opened. This year, a record number of children – 678 – are starting to attend this primary school building.
We began work on the construction of the primary school in early 2018, which resulted in a modern and spacious building measuring over 10,000 square metres. “Children are our future, and this is clearly a school of the future. It is an inspirational environment where the younger residents of Ādaži will acquire knowledge and develop,” Gatis Logins, Member of the Board at MONUM, points out.
32 modern classrooms, located in four units, are housed in the two blocks of the building. Each unit and the classrooms are assigned a colour: blue, green, red or orange. This solution adds dynamism to the overall image of the building and helps the pupils to easier find their way around.
The school has two spacious dining halls and a contemporary assembly hall. The innovative catering system provides for the pupils’ self-service: starting as early as in grade 1, children will have the opportunity to choose lunch according to their own wishes.
The building is fitted with a modern gym and two indoor playgrounds, as well as a sports ground for outdoor activities. All the parameters of the gym meet the requirements of international basketball and volleyball federations.
Sustainable energy-efficiency solutions have been used in the design of the building, which will provide significant long-term resource savings, as well as respect the environment. An energy-efficient solution – LED lights – has been used to illuminate all premises.
