Extensive work on the assembly of technological equipment at the wood chip boiler house in Valmiera has been completed 11.05.2020

Final work on the new wood chip boiler house facility at 1 Dakstiņu Street, Valmiera is under way. The building of the boiler house has been constructed.

“The work on the assembly of technological equipment has been completed and we have started to landscape the area,” Kaspars Brencis, Construction Project Manager at MONUM, outlines the status of the project.

The project has high added value. As a result, the residents of the right bank of the Gauja River will be provided with efficient heat supply, while the environment, which was previously a degraded area, will be cleaned up. The new boiler house has been built as an environmentally friendly heat supply system, which will have a minimal impact on the environment, as heat generation will be ensured using renewable energy sources.

A wood chip biomass boiler with a thermal capacity of 9 MW and a flue gas condensing economiser with a thermal capacity of 1.5 MW have been constructed as part of the project. The contracting authority of the project is Valmieras Enerģija AS (Adven). Its total cost is over EUR 6 million including VAT.
