Reconstruction and modernisation of border crossing point Terehova continues 01.09.2020
Major reconstruction and modernisation work continues at the Latvian-Russian border crossing point Terehova, which is the busiest in the country.
“Work of the in-depth control building continues. We have started work on the rebuilding of the canopies. We are also continuing work on laying the asphalt, which will be carried out on a total area of 15 thousand square metres,” Andris Vējiņš, Project Manager at MONUM, describes the current situation at the site.
The resulting reconstruction will not only improve the visual image of the structure and the environment, but also modernise the information flow due to the installation of duplicate traffic signs at the entry to the border crossing point and at the inspection pavilions. The institutions involved will be able to carry out the necessary document checks faster and more efficiently thanks to modern technology solutions.
The project provides for improving the surrounding infrastructure and developing an area of over 12 hectares.
The contracting authority of the project is Valsts nekustamie īpašumi VAS (State Real Estate SJSC), and its total cost is more than 7 million euro.
